Parents

Our club would NOT be successful if it was not for each and every parent that gives of their time in SO many ways. Be it driving your skater to practices or helping out at bingo. You are a very important part of our club.

Things Parents Can Do to Help a Coach

  1. Ensure your child arrives on time. (Arrive fifteen minutes before scheduled time. Do not walk in the door when your lesson begins.)

  2. Say only positive things at practice and competition.

  3. Communicate with the coach.

  4. Do not attempt to coach your child – leave it to the coaches. Do not stand by the boards during lesson time.

  5. CALL THE COACH IF YOUR CHILD IS GOING TO BE LATE OR MISS A PRACTICE.

  6. Be sure your child has plenty of sleep the night before practice or competition.

  7. Focus on effort, not winning.

  8. Support the coach, especially on discipline and coaching decisions.

  9. Thank the coaches – it goes a long way!!!

  10. Parents, please be courteous to other skater’s scheduled lesson times.

Conflict Resolution Policy:

It's important to us that our skaters, families, and supporters are provided a safe and welcoming environment in all Chippewa Figure Skating Club settings. Should you or your skater encounter conflict with any of our members, coaches, committee members or fellow skating families we encourage you, as a first step to report the incident to our club President by email - Email Us

To help us fully understand the situation you are reporting, please be sure to include as many details as possible about the incident and your direct contact information. Your report will be reviewed by the President of the club. If your report involves the President and the grievance committee the CFSC executive board will be appointed to review the  process.
